Student Type Definitions |

• Beginning Student: A beginning student is one who has completed no technical college or other post-secondary work. |
|
• Special Admit Student: A special admit student is a student who is non-award seeking. This student desires credit for course work, but is not pursuing a certificate, diplomas, or associate degree. |
|
• Transfer Student: A transfer student is one who has completed work at any post-secondary institution. |
|
• Transient Student: A transient student is a student who is enrolled at one technical college, requesting to take a course(s) at another technical college. |
|
|
• Banner: Student information management system used by TCSG's 22 colleges. |
|
• GUI: Graphical User Interface |
|
• GVTC: Georgia Virtual Technical Connection |
|
• Home College: The college where the student has applied and been accepted for enrollment. |
|
• Host College: The college where the student will take a course and have the grade sent back to
the home college. |
|
• POA: Program Offering Application |
|
• POC: Point of Contact at each college who acts as the liaison between the college and
GVTC. |
|
• TAF: Transient Agreement Form; also known as the Transient Student Agreement Form and
the Transient Letter of Agreement. |
